UDHAMPUR, Mar 13: Alleging failure of Jal Shakti Department (PHE) in providing adequate water supply to them, the residents of village Jandrore-A Block Ghordi in Ramnagar area today held a strong protest.
The protesting villagers raised slogans against the Jal Shakti Department and District administration Udhampur for no repair of Mad Devta water tank which was damaged 15 years back with the result locals are fully dependent on natural sources for getting potable water.
“PHE Department assured during Back to Village that the water tank will be repaired or to be construed new one within short span of time but no action is taken yet and poor people are forced to drink dirty water,” they said and appealed Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for issuing necessary direction to the concerned authorities.
The protest demonstration was attended by Sudesh Kumar, Manmohan Raj, Thakar Dass Panch, Munshi Ram, Kala Ram, Bhadar Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Jatinder Singh, Prem Nath Ex- Subedar, Manjeet Singh, Dharam Chand, Shankar Dass, Puran Singh, Pritam Chand, Beli Ram, Des Raj and others.
