MENDHAR, Apr 12: Residents from Nabna Gohlad area thronged the office of PDD here in the town and held protest demonstration and also allegedly ransacked the office.
These agitating people alleged that transformer in the area got damaged about one and half month back and despite repeated requests to the field staff the power could not be restored in the area. During the protest at the PDD Sub-Division office the villagers had some heated exchanges with the two JEs and other staff. The irate villagers then ransacked the office and tried to put lock there. However, the staff restrained them. Later, these people moved to the office of SDM and submitted a memorandum.
The PDD staff lodged a complaint with the local police and also with SDM. They demanded action against the people who damaged computer and furniture. They warned to go on strike if no action was taken in this regard.
