REASI, Apr 26: Alleging failure of Public Health Engineering (PHE) in providing adequate water supply to them, the residents of Kattal village in of Grah Morh area of Reasi today held a massive protest.
The protestors also blocked Reasi-Jyotipuram road for more than 4 hours thus causing a traffic jam and inconvenience to the commuters.
The agitating villagers raised slogans against the PHE Department and District administration. They alleged that due to callous approach of the concerned department, people of the area were suffering and their normal life was also getting affected.

The protesters said that they have repeatedly brought the matter into the notice of the concerned authorities but all remained in vain. “Even we have staged protests many times to highlight our grievance but no action was taken in this regard till date and the water supply is still extremely poor as it used to be, making people to face the worst,” they said.
The protestors also raised slogans against Railway companies working on Banihal Railway line and alleged that they had destroyed all natural water resources. They also demanded strict action against these Railway companies.
Later on, Tehsildar Reasi and other officials reached the spot and assured the agitating people that adequate water supply would be ensured after which the protestors dispersed off.
