UDHAMPUR, Sept 3: Up in arms against non-availability of ambulance driver, locals of village Lander in Panchari Block, today protested against Health Department.
Protesting villagers said that Ambulance at Primary Health Center (PHC) Lander was without driver with the result that it was of no use in shifting patients during emergency. “It’s surprising that concerned authorities have taken no initiative to appoint a driver for the ambulance, which is lying defunct while the patients are suffering,” they said and accused the Health Department of being in deep slumber and least concerned about the grievances of people.
The villagers warned that if the ambulance driver is not engaged within a week, they would launch a vigorous protest and the district Administration as well as the Health Department will be responsible for the same.
