UDHAMPUR, Mar 11: Locals of village Lander in Panchari today protest against PMGSY Department for worst condition of Udhampur to Lander- Panchari- Galiote road, which needs immediate repair and black topping.
Local villagers of Lander in the Panchari Tehsil and villagers demanding repair and black topping the worst condition road of Udhampur to Lander Panchari in 80-km.
Shouting slogans against PMGSY Department, the protesting villagers said that because of worst condition of this 80-km long road, shifting pregnant women and sick old persons to District Hospital Udhampur was full of danger to their lives.
The said road was sanctioned and approved under PMGSY for completion within two years. However, even after lapse of the deadline, the work has not been completed due to which people are facing problems. The matter was brought into the notice of political leaders and senior officials of the concerned department but nothing was done to ensure completion of the road work, said the protesting villagers.
Meanwhile, a similar protest was organized by the locals demanding repair and black topping of Chowki to Katwalt road. The protesting villagers raised slogans against the PWD authorities and district administration, which have so far failed to repair the road despite their repeated pleas in this regard.
