UDHAMPUR, Dec 26: Aggrieved over no regular supply of ration in the area, locals of nine different Panchayat in Latti Tehsil today protested against the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Public Distribution, here today.
The protesting villagers, led by nine Panchayat Sarpanches and Panch, raised slogans against the concerned Department. They were demanding regular supply of food grains to the area.
Talking to the Excelsior, Sarpanch Dudu, Hansraj alleged that there was no regular supply of ration for the last six months with the result that the locals were facing acute problem. “Even as the matter was several times brought into the notice of higher authorities, nothing was done to ensure regular supply of food grains in Ration Depots here,” he rued.
The protesting villagers also alleged that names of several families and their members were deleted in the ration cards while a number of families were not issued the ration cards so far.
After the protest, villagers submitted a memorandum to the SDM, who assured that their grievances would be addressed son.
