UDHAMPUR, Aug 8: Aggrieved over the extremely bad condition of Dalsar to Chowki-Ghordi PMGSY road, local villagers today protested against the PMGSY Department and the district administration.
Shouting slogans against the district administration and PMGSY Department, the protesting villagers were demanding immediate repair and blacktopping of the road.
The protest was held at village Virno, under leadership of Maya Devi, Sarpanch, who was accompanied by Angrej Singh Panch, Charan Dass, Manju Singh, Sanjay Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Sohan Lal Panch and others.
The protesting villagers appealed to the Lieutenant Governor, J&K UT, Manoj Sinha to issue necessary instructions to concerned authorities for repair of the road so that people may not suffer.
“Due to the worst condition and big potholes in this 21- km long road from Dalsar to Chowki-Ghordi, passenger vehicle operators do not ply their minibuses and buses on this route with the result locals, particularly pregnant women, elderly and students face manifold problems,” they said and warned that if the road condition is not improved, indefinite and series of protests will be held.
