Villagers protest for land compensation

Excelsior Correspondent
UDHAMPUR, Sept 12: Locals of  Jib, Ghari and  Rehambal areas today protested  against delay in settlement and release of compensation  against the land   acquired by Army authorities in village Jib.
The protesting villagers  said that military authorities  had acquired the said land permanently for the defense use in 1952. The said land measuring 1797 kanals 11 marlas originally belongs to around 100 families, which are very poor and are being paid  a nominal rent by the defence authorities.
The villagers appealed the Prime Minister to personally intervene into the matter and settle the land case once for all by release  compensation in favour of the villagers  so that they could provide better education to their children.
