UDHAMPUR, Dec 14: Residents of Village Kulwanta and its surrounding areas today held a protest over worst condition of road.
The locals raised slogans against Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) officers and blamed them for their woes.
They said that the work of the 14.5 km long road was undertaken under PMGSY with an estimated cost of Rs 789.79 lakh but the contractor didn’t complete the road from Village Kulwanta to Bari Ladana.
The protesting people said that public complained lots of time to the PMGSY department and even registered their complaint on ‘Meri Sadak’ app but got no response. He said in rainy season, the road becomes slippery that even one cannot walk on it.
The large potholes have made the road accidental prone and in case of any medical emergency, particularly in delivery case, it becomes difficult to shift the expecting mothers to shift Sub District Hospital Ramnagar and District Hospital, Udhampur.
