SAMBA, Aug 26: Up in arms against no supply of drinking water in village Nagrota, near Uttervahini, the locals held a strong protest demonstration against the PHE authorities.
The protesting people, mostly women, raised slogans against the PHE Department and alleged that due to failure of the concerned authorities, damaged motor of the dug well was not repaired for the last more than two month with the result that no water supply was being made to the village.
“Despite repeated requests to the Xen-Mechanical, Samba Division and even submission of a memorandum to the SDM in this regard, the concerned PHE officials have not yet repaired or replaced the damaged pump for no reasons,” they lamented.
The protesting villagers threatened to gherao the PHE officials if the damaged motor is not repaired immediately and water supply is restored.
