UDHAMPUR, Apr 17: Up in arms against shortage of school staff, locals of village Ladana and students of Government Middle School Pangyal protested against the School Education Department, here today.
The protesters alleged that due to the shortage of staff in the school, students were suffering. There are only three teachers posted in the Middle school and now one of them is working as BLO while another one has been attached to the office of CEO Udhampur with the result that there is one teachers for eight classes, they explained.
The protesting villagers said that they brought the matter into the notice of concerned authorities but there was no action.
According to Dara Singh, ZEO Zone Kulwanta, the school is in far-flung area and no teacher was willing to serve there.
