Sir,
Today, December 10, marks International Human Rights Day, a day to reaffirm our commitment to upholding the universal declaration of human rights. However, the Hindu minority community in Bangladesh continues to face egregious human rights abuses, perpetuated by extremist forces and tolerated by the Government.
The situation is dire, with temples, homes, and businesses being destroyed, and individuals being targeted, detained, and killed. The Government’s inaction and failure to protect minorities have created an environment of impunity, allowing perpetrators to roam free.
It is imperative that international organizations, including the UN, take immediate action to address this crisis. This includes sending a peacekeeping force to Bangladesh, providing compensation for damaged properties, and establishing a special board for the development of Sanatan in Bangladesh.
We urge the Bangladeshi Government to take concrete steps to protect its Hindu minority community and hold perpetrators accountable. The world must not turn a blind eye to these atrocities.
