JAMMU, Dec 20: BJP senior leader & former MLC, Advocate Ramesh Arora has expressed his deep concern over the ongoing protests in different parts of the country over the issue Citizen Amendment Act (CAA).
He in a statement issued here, today strongly condemned the violence and burning of official and unofficial vehicles and termed it shameful on the part of protestors. Parliament of India have passed the CAB with majority vote after discussion and uproar on roads indicated that those parties who could not succeed in Parliament wanted to destabilized and lower down the image of the country. Such acts cannot be tolerated in a civilized democratic society, he added.
Arora further said that few political parties want to communalize the issue and are supporting the agitators by one or the other way to achieve petty political gains. “We cannot compromise national interest especially when Mahatma Gandhi father of the nation was of the opinion that India should accommodate Hindus and Sikhs if they come back from Pakistan at one occasion’’. “Congress party has also passed resolution to this extent,. But the present leadership disagrees with their stalwarts who were instruments in getting liberated India from the clutches of British Government’’, he added.
Arora said that Jammu and Kashmir people are in favour of CAA and in Assam also a large number of people joined celebration after passing of CAA by Parliament of India. Muslims will not be affected in any manner whatsoever over the issue and it is not going to snatch their legal rights, he added.
Arora condemned the statement of Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad that “we are heading towards disintegration and we are dividing country on communal lines’’. All Hindu and Muslim should stand united and so called intellectuals and pseudo secular people should refrain from damaging the image of the country in the eyes of right thinking persons of the world community, he added.
