Viqar reviews achievements under District Plan

RAMBAN, Jan 28: Minister of State for Technical Education, Power, Information and Rural Development, Viqar Rasool Wani today convened a meeting of District and Sectoral Officers at Banihal to review the achievements made under the District Annual Plan 2012-13.
The Minister held sector wise review of projects and schemes being implemented in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister impressed upon the officers to ensure effective implementation of various schemes to ensure that the benefits of the same reach to the targeted lot. He asked the concerned executing agencies to speed up the pace of work on various ongoing infrastructure developmental works in the district for their time bound completion.
He directed the officers to mobilize field functionaries in rural areas for effective implementation and execution of State and Centrally sponsored welfare and developmental schemes aimed at the socio-economic development of people living in the district.
While reviewing the flagship MGNREGS scheme in the district, it was revealed that against an approved outlay of Rs. 3279.00 lakh, an amount of Rs. 1256.37 lakh have been released till ending December 2012, against which an expenditure of Rs. 1188.40 lakh have been made. It was also revealed that 2000 works have been approved under the MGNREG Scheme out of which 1272 works have been taken up while as 259 works were completed till ending December 2012.
While reviewing Power (T&D) sector in the district, it was revealed that 97.39 percent of expenditure has been made against the approved outlay of 28.75 lakh.
The meeting also reviewed the physical and financial achievements under Social Welfare, Sarve Shiksha Abhyan (SSA), Health, PHE, R&B and Agriculture.
Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Shabir Ahmad Bhat, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramban and district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.
