JAMMU, Nov 2: Vishwakarma Day was celebrated here today with proper traditions and rituals.
The technical workers did no-work on this day and cleaned their tools and machines and worshipped them.
Vishwakarma Day is celebrated on the next day of Diwali and the workers believe that Lord Vishwakarma safeguards them from accidents during the work and profits of the organisations also increase by remembering Lord Vishwakarma on this special day.
Shashi Verma, president of Vishwakarma Sabha J&K informed that special worships were held at the temples of Lord Vishwakarma in Bakshi Nagar Gurah, Digiana, Mishriwala, New Plot and at many other places on this day.
All the workers along with their families attended these temples and paid obeisance to Lord Vishwakarma and the management of these temples had organised special Langars for the visiting devotees.
In factories also the Vishwakarma Day was celebrated and the workers worshipped the machines and tools with which they work throughout the year.
“We do no-work today and only worship Lord Vishwakarma so that he may safeguard the workers while working on the machines and this also increases profits fetched by these machines,” Ramesh Kumar, a factory worker at Bari Brahmana said.
