JAMMU, May 14: Pradesh Vishwakarma Sabha organized an interactive session of employees to honour their services in various fields.
Rashpal Verma, Vice-Chairman OBC Advisory Board was the chief guest and Shashi Verma, president of the Sabha, presided over the function.
A large number of Vishwakarma employees, including women, from all over the Jammu province, attended the programme. Those who have excelled in their career, were honoured with mementos.
On the occasion, the employees were also provided a platform to express their concerns and difficulties being faced in their professional life.
Shashi Verma appealed the participants to work hard, with dedication and sincerity. He emphasized on unity of the society and reiterated the long pending demand for holiday on Vishwakarma Day. He also raised the issue of income slab for OBC certificate, which was raised by the Central Government to Rs 6 lakh in 2013 but in J&K, it was still Rs 4.5 lakh.
R L Chargotra, vice-president of Akhil Bhartiya Vishwakarma Mahasabha, alleged that Revenue authorities were showing least interest in issuing of OBC certificates as a result of which State OBC are being deprived of Central Government quota. He appealed Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir to issue an advisory to all Deputy Commissioner and Tehsildars to be proactive towards OBCs.
Prominent among those, who participated in the interactive session, included Sanjeev Verma, Arun Jaral, Balwant Kataria, Prof Poonam Angotra, Kuldeep Verma, Rattan Bhardwaj, Ram Lal, Rampal Chargotra, Rajinder Kumar Verma, Neelam Verma, Dr Neeru Verma, Master Jaswant Raj, Madan Chalotra, O P Khokhar and others.
