Vision Kashmir delegation calls on RRC, submits memorandum

JAMMU, July 22: A delegation of Vision Kashmir an organization of displaced unemployed over-aged youth today called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (RRC), Dr Arvind Karwani under the leadership of its president, Sunil Fotedar and submitted a memorandum of demands to him.
As per a release, the memorandum highlighted the problems of migrant relief holders and over-aged youth in particular and displaced Pandits from Valley in general.
The memorandum demanded hike in cash assistance which has not been increased for last seven years despite steep hike in prices of essential commodities.
The memorandum also demanded implementation of all social welfare schemes of Central Government for displaced persons from Valley who have been deprived of their benefits till date.
The memorandum further demanded that steps be taken to provide livelihood to over aged migrant youth by providing soft loans to set up their own business etc.
It further demanded that Government should take steps for the one time settlement and rehabilitation and return of the community in their homeland which is leading an exiled life for last 34 years. Moreover the blue print of the return and rehabilitation policy be discussed with community representatives.
The Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner after listening the demands informed that all steps are being taken to solve the problems of displaced people and shortly some positive steps will be taken in this regard.
