Vision Kashmir highlights plight of relief holders

JAMMU, Mar 25: Vision Kashmir organization of over aged youth and relief holders of the displaced community expressed serious concerns regarding their financial situation emerging due the complete lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Due to the outbreak of this serious pandemic, the relief holders who are mostly above 50 years old prefer to remain in home but are now facing the financial problems in respect of household, regular medicine purchases, the escalating prices of vegetables and other eatables and it has put them in cesspool of perennial debt. Many relief holders are even not in a position to purchase their routine medicines due to financial constraints.
Relief holders have requested Relief Commissioner to take measures pertaining to sustenance of nearly 20,000 families of relief holders in this crisis of pandemic. A letter was sent to him where it was requested to release cash assistance for the month of March and April 20 or extend financial help of Rs 5000 per family as announced by Government of India on humantrain grounds. It was also requested to provide ration for the month of April2020 on the slip of April 2019 with duly signature on receiving the ration from the dealer enabling relief holder to overcome crisis.
