JAMMU, June 19: Tourists from different parts of the country as well as local passengers have been experiencing suffocating atmosphere in the Jammu Airport due to non-functioning of the Air Conditioners.
Reports said that Air Conditioners installed in the terminal building of the Jammu Airport are non-functional during the past several days but no efforts are being made by the concerned authorities to make them functional despite the fact that tourists as well as local passengers have been facing lots of inconvenience during these hot days.
The non-serious attitude of the concerned authorities is notwithstanding the fact that 17 flights carrying around 5000 passengers are being operated from Jammu Airport every-day. The patients, who reach Jammu Airport for onward journey to different parts of the country for treatment, are the worst suffers because of suffocating atmosphere.
What sort of message the tourists from different parts of the country are gathering while experiencing suffocating atmosphere can be easily gauged. Moreover, non-functioning of the Air Conditioners on whatever reasons is a blot on Jammu Airport, which otherwise is being proposed to be developed as International Airport.
