Vivekanand Medical Mission holds cancer awareness progs

JAMMU, July 31: Under the guidance of Anil Gupta, president Swami Vivekanand Medical Mission Charitable Hospital, Ambphalla,Jammu in collaboration with UHAPO, a Mumbai-based cancer society has successfully conducted a three-day cancer awareness cum navigation program across various locations in Jammu.
This inivitative is part of the newly launched cancer patient navigation program under the UHAPO Sewa Kendar at Swami Vivekanand Medical Mission Charitable Hospital, Ambphalla Jammu. This initiative aims to offer comprehensive support to cancer patients and their families through the UHAPO Sewa Kendar. The hospital encourages anyone facing cancer-related issues to visit this facility, where patients will receive guidance and assistance from the UHAPO Cancr Society in collaboration with the hospital’s resources.
The awareness campaign kicked off at the Saraswati Agro Chemical India Pvt. Ltd. where workers and adminitrative staff participated in the informative sessions. On the second day, the program extended to Shiksha Bhawan Higher Secondary School Bakshi Nagar Jammu engaging approximately 70 students, teaching and non-teaching staff. On the same day, the cancer awareness session was held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar, Jammu where approximately 300 students and teaching as well as non teaching staff participated.
On 3rd day of the continuing awareness programme, a session was held at Swami Vivekanand Medical Mission Charitable Hospital, Ambphalla, Jammu where all the doctors, staff members and patients along with the attendants attended the highly informative session.
Vivek Sharma, key speaker who is a founder of UHAPO a Mumbai based Cancer society led the discussions on cancer, convering its types, causes, preventive methods and the role of the Swami Vivekanand Medical Mission Cheritable Hospital in launching the cancer navigation center. The program also featured Anita Gupta, a cancer care coach and survivor, who provided valuable insights into the social, emotional and moral support needed during a cancer journey. The awareness drive was also spported by key members of the hospital and team UHAPO.
Amar Chand Gupta, Senior Vice President, Atma Saroup Gupta Vice President, B.B. Gupta General Secretary, B.S Jamwal Secretary, Dr Sachin Gupta Member, Mohan Singh Chauhan, Treasurer, Dr Romesh Gupta Administrator, Ashish Dutta, Cancer Navigator and Iqbal Deep Singh Manager, Hospital also attended various sessions.
