RAJOURI, Jan 17: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) State General Secretary and former MLC Vivodh Gupta conducted a series of meetings at border villages Sankari and Kotdhara here today.
As per a statement, the former MLC visited the border villages especially to assess the on-the-ground security situation and to boost the morale of the border residents after the recent attack by the militants in Dhangri Village.
Addressing the border residents during one of the functions, Gupta praised their bravery, vigilance, and alertness to keep the borders secured.
He said that people putting up along the borders will never bow down to the nefarious designs of the enemy.
“All efforts of the enemy to derail the peace process in our border areas will fail. They will never succeed in their unethical designs,” he said.
Referring to the recent visit of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to meet the families of the Dhangri massacre, the former MLC said that such gestures from top leaders of the nation have always helped to boost the morale of not only the affected families but the general public at large.
Meanwhile, the press statement said the locals demanded establishment of security posts of CRPF and BSF in their respective villages in order to break the backbone of various OGWs operating in the area.
BJP District Vice-President Raja Rattan Singh and Mandal Pradhan Kulbir Singh also addressed the public gatherings.
