JAMMU, Apr 29: Vichar Kranti Manch International (VKMI) conferred ‘Life Time Achievement’ award to I D Soni, a well-known name in the fields of education, social & public service, motivational writing and speaking, research, religious values and philanthropy at a simple and impressive function.
K B Jandial (Retired IAS) was the chief guest on the occasion while Prem Gupta (Retired IPS) presided over the function. Rameshwar Mengi (Chairman, Shiksha Niketan Trust & RMPS) and Vijay Bhagotra (general secretary, Home for Aged & Infirm, Ambphalla) were the guests of honour whereas S C Rekhi (general secretary, Retired Officers’ Forum) was special invitee.
Dr Shreyansh Kumar Jain (State Yoga Commissioner) presented his poem specially composed on Soni, highlighting his qualities of head and heart for the occasion.
Soni heads the Home for Aged and Infirm Ambphalla and Retired Officers Forum (ROF), besides being chief patron of J&K Confederation of Social & Charitable Organization, Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) & Hari Prabhu Sanstha (HPS), Billawar and chief advisor VKMI.
He is associated with several NGOs. He has authored three motivational books- Anecdotes That Inspire, Old Age is a Boon & Not a curse and How to Live a Peaceful Life. His new book “Scripts That Motivates” is near completion.
He has received several awards including President’s award of ‘ Silver Elephant’ for rendering a very dedicated, sincere, diligent service as Scouter to Scouting Moment, Certificate of Appreciation from Rajya Sainik Welfare Department, Best Administrative Award of J&K, etc.
C M Sharma (general secretary VKMI and State coordinator Annamalai University), conducted the proceedings while Ashok Gupta (vice president VKMI) presented vote of thanks.
