VK’s concern over Govt’s apathy towards displaced youth

JAMMU, Apr 27: Vision Kashmir – an organization of over aged youth and relief holders today lambasted the Government for its apathy towards the migrant youth.
The organization, which held deliberations through the teleconferencing said days and nights are turning longer and the hope of getting justice is becoming bleaker day in and day out for the displaced over aged youth as no one has till date been able to take iota of responsibility to provide any solace to their oozing wounds and scars being continuously their destination from last 30 years.
The V K said that, unfortunately in this pandemic the misfortune had multiplied to such an extent that it has made the life hell for the relief holders as they can’t make both ends meet on a meager amount of Rs 3250 in this situation when rates of commodities are touching sky. It asked that how can they live when every family spends an expenditure of at least Rs 5000 on medicine and how life can sustain other routine necessities of daily use.
It said that always the demand for hike in cash assistance has been turned down by the authorities at the helm of affairs who showed no concern for the hapless people and victims of terrorism who have lost every thing after suffering persecution through the hands of Jehadi forces.
It further said that now the situation of over aged relief holders is terrible being dependant on Government though they made a strong representation before the newly constituted Task Force to review the creation of economic activity and employment avenues for them, but nothing fruitful has been materialized.
While expressing the anguish over the ignominy of relief holders by the authorities, they VK appealed the Government to release April 2020 cash assistance with some economic bail viz-a- viz ex-gracia amount to continue the daily living as it is a humane problem and proprietary demands its mitigation otherwise we will be left with no option but to protest and the authorities will be responsible for consequences.
