JAMMU, Aug 2: A meeting of Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj (VKS) was held under the chairmanship of its convener, Kiran Wattal in which problems of displaced Kashmiri Pandits were discussed threadbare.
Addressing the meeting, Kiran Wattal hoped that the present regime under the leadership of Narendra Modi at the Centre will address the genuine and long pending demands of the displaced KPs.
The meeting demanded that the GoI must provide compensation up to the tone of Rs one crore against the left over property to every KP family on the basis of annual assessment since 31 years. It demanded that the much hyped PM employment package has not been implemented properly and only 1800 youth have been absorbed and the remaining vacant posts be filled in Central Government departments with an age relaxation of 10 years besides sufficient number of posts be reserved in different departments for higher service also.
It demanded a special recruitment in Jammu and Kashmir police for displaced KPs youth, the over aged KP youth who have crossed their age during exile should be given one time compensation of interest free loan of Rs 50 lakh so that they can start some small business to earn their livelihood.
It further demanded various schemes launched by GoI for the upliftment and welfare of youth should be also extended to displaced KPs and GoI must uplift the standard of life of KPs at their present places till return and rehabilitation. The Ayushmaan Bharat scheme launched by GoI be implemented immediately to displaced KPs without further delay, Temples and Shrines Bill be passed and Board be framed immediately on the analogy of Mata Vaishnav Devi Shrine Board and a high level committee at Central and State be constituted to monitor the various problems and issues being faced by the displaced KPs.
