JAMMU, Dec 11: Mahotsav 2023, organized by Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir Economic Growth and Development Dialogue (LEAD) at Gulshan Ground here while providing the much needed platforms for entrepreneurship showcases, also became an ethinic cultural extravaganza of diversity.
Global Solace Society (GSS) with Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj (VKS) and supported by Tourism Federation of Jammu took to a live cultural experience of showcasing the Kashmiri Pandit culture and served its famous cuisines to visitors.
The society also put up an exhibition of paintings depicting the essence of civilization and important symbols of timeless faith. The highlight was the way Kashmiri food was served in the elaborate cultural practice norms.
Speaking about the stall and the successful two days, Kiran Watal (convener VKS) said the occasion has really given exposure to our age old cultural practices which continues to our pride and identity preserve while Pintoo (president, GSS) stated that the festival gave youth an opportunity to participate in various activities and learn about social enterprises.
Several eminent people and thousands of commons kept the stall busy and created a lot of buzz around the KP uniqueness and introduce unique products and food to outside world. True to vision of the event, the GSS also participated in networking and learning about the state and its changing face.
Dr Agnishekhar, a poet and a writer explained in detail the essence of Kashmiri culture and tradition. Kashmiri women folk presented the cultural henzy and sang devotional songs.
Prominent among who participated in the Mahotsav include RJ Nehru (VC, Skill Development University, Haryana), Veer Ji Sumbli, Prof Ashok Aima (former VC, Central University of Jammu), M K Yogi (general secretary VKS) and Kamal Gangoo.
The volunteers who provided their services at the Kashmiri stall were Piaray Lal Pandita, Kuldeep Razdan, Ram Rattan, Ajay Kumar Bhat, Kundan Lal Raina, Roshan Lal Koul, Ashok Sumbli, Mahrah Kumar, Urmila, Reena, Fency, Kiran, Vidhi, Mehak, Sushma, Babita, Raj Dulari, Asha Koul and Anjali Suriya.
