SRINAGAR, Sept 16: Police arrested a Village Level Worker (VLW) for stealing cement meant for developmental works in Rajpora area of district Pulwama.
Identified as Ghulam Mohammad Mir son of Abdul Ahad Mir of village Achgoz in district Pulwama, he was arrested on theft charges and a case (FIR number 98/2013, under Section 409 RPC) was registered in Rajpora Police Station against him.
The SHO Rajpora, R S Chib said: “We received information that VLW stole Government cement and dumped it at home to construct a new house. We raided his house and seized 40 bags of Government cement bags.”
The SHO said that police have arrested him and investigation was going on to unearth some more scandals in the block. “More arrests are expected,” he added.
