JAMMU, Dec 30: A delegation of Vyapar Mandal (VM), Rajouri under the chairmanship of their president, Rajesh Gupta today met with Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha and submitted a memorandum regarding their demands.
The delegation raised their demands included, setting up a solid waste management plant to keep Rajouri clean, releasing funds to restart the construction work of circular road which is hanging in balance, building at least 3 public parking lots in the city for the convenience of the people, setting up a warehouse, keeping in mind the problems of traders in view of the growing business in Rajouri, building a mini secretariat to make all government offices work under one roof, giving age relaxation in the recruitment of sub-inspector in police to curb unemployment, promoting industry, including subjects like public administration and endocrinology in higher secondary schools and degree colleges of Rajouri.
They also demanded better health facilities in Rajouri, shifting the maternity hospital to a new building and opening an Ayush Hospital and College.
Apart from this, a request was made to take concrete steps to curb the unannounced power cuts in Rajouri.
The Lieutenant Governor listened to their demands carefully and assured to fulfil them at earliest.
