SRINAGAR, Oct 3: A two day rehabilitation service camp was organized by Voluntary Medicare Society (VMS) at Sub District Hospital Tanghdar in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
The camp which concluded today was organized for the children with developmental delays, amputees, clubfoot, speech and hearing impaired and persons with other disabilities.
The rehabilitation camp was held under the supervision of Dr Mir Mohammad Maqbool, noted ENT specialist and former Prof & HoD ENT Department Government Medical College and Associated Hospitals, who is also the founding president of VMS, Srinagar.
More than 151 persons were examined out of which 130 persons were provided needful on spot interventions whereas other patients requiring specialized treatment were asked to report at Shafaqat Rehabilitation Centre, Bemina Srinagar for advanced rehab services.
Block Medical Officer (BMO) Tangdar, Dr Shafiq Rubani and SDM Tangdar, appreciated the VMS mission to the frontier Tehsil which holds a large population of physically challenged and persons with different disabilities who required multidisciplinary interventions. The SDM and BMO urged the VMS to make it an annual feature to hold such camps in the frontier Sub Division.
