JAMMU, Mar 31: Demanding job policy and enhancement in their salary, Vocational Trainers in the School Education Department held a strong protest demonstration, here today.
The protest was held under the banner of Vocational Training Welfare Association and a number of Vocational Trainers, including female trainers took part in the demonstration.
Shouting slogans and carrying placards in support of their demands, the protesting Vocational Trainers appealed Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to personally look into their demands and issue necessary instruction to the concerned authority for a positive consideration.
The protesting Vocational trainers were demanding a Government Job Policy for them, enhancement of their salary and abolition of middlemen in reporting of their attendance. They were also demanding release of their colleagues in Kashmir Valley, who were detained by Police authorities during protest.
Talking to media persons on the occasion, the protesting Vocational Trainers announced their indefinite strike from today and warned to further intensify their agitation if the Government does not take immediate decision on their demands.
Seeking abolition of contractors’ role in their engagement and reporting attendance to the concerned authorities, the protesting Vocational Trainers said that there should be no middlemen between them and the Government.
The protesters vowed to continue their strike and take it to a logical conclusion.
