Vodafone, Red Cross Society organize blood donation camp

JAMMU, Mar 11: Vodafone India, one of India’s leading telecom service operators in association with the Red Cross Society, Jammu organized a blood donation camp at Bahu Plaza Complex, here today.
The camp was aimed to promote the noble cause of saving precious lives amongst the residents of Jammu.
Brig M M Harjai, Commandant Military Hospital, Jammu, the chief guest, inaugurated the camp in the presence of Vodafone and Red Cross officials, employees and the blood donors present at the venue.
The camp was organized from 3 pm to 6 pm today.
Speaking on the occasion, Asit Shekhar, Business Head, J&K, Punjab and HP, Vodafone India said, “Vodafone India as a value based organization is passionate about people and is committed to achieving the highest standards in health, safety and well-being (HSW) for employees, customers, partners, contractors and the society.”
While speaking, Brig M M Harjai said, “Donating blood doesn’t cost you anything but can help in saving the life of someone in need. Those donating blood are doing a service to the society and serve as an inspiration for others. It is good to see that a responsible corporate like Vodafone has taken it upon them to encourage blood-donation in the society”.
All necessary facilities were taken care of at the camp. Every donor was first checked for fitness for donating before collecting blood.
It is pertinent to mention here that Vodafone India is a member of the Vodafone Group and commenced operations in 1994 when its predecessor Hutchison Max acquired the cellular license for Mumbai. The company has operations across the country serving over 160 million customers.
