JAMMU, Jan 5: The highly anticipated semi-final results of Voice of Duggar – Season 2 (VOD-2) were announced by the Apna Dogri Channel Trust, Jammu & Kashmir. This prestigious singing competition, which celebrates the rich musical heritage of Duggar Pradesh, saw intense competition from singers across the region. Contestants from all ten districts participated, demonstrating their exceptional talent and love for local culture and languages.
The competition began with 155 contestants and, after a rigorous audition and elimination process, 96 singers advanced to the next stage. From these, 54 qualified for the quarter-finals, and after more eliminations, 26 contestants reached the semi-final. Today, the top 16 finalists were announced, who will compete in the grand Mega Final.
The finalists for the Mega Final, ranked in descending order, include Rahul Singh (Kathua) in 1st place, Nishchal Thakur (Rajouri) in 2nd, and Sanjeev Sharma (Udhampur) and Nirmal Kumar (Samba) tied in 3rd. Other finalists include Ashok Khanotra (Udhampur), Gurdiv Singh (Udhampur), Arti Bhagat (Udhampur), Pallavi Devi (Udhampur), Anmol Kumar (Samba), and Manisha Devi (Kathua), among others.
Apna Dogri Channel Chairman, Devendra Thakur and Subash Chander Sharma, Chairman of the Voice of Duggar, congratulated the finalists, applauding their hard work and dedication. They encouraged the finalists to prepare intensely for the upcoming Mega Final and reassured those eliminated that the competition remains a stepping stone in their musical journey.
Thakur emphasized that Voice of Duggar provides a vital platform for singers from remote areas to showcase their talent and preserve the folk music of Duggar Pradesh, in languages like Dogri, Gojri, and Pahadi.
