VOK arrests Govt official for demanding, accepting bribe

SRINAGAR, Dec 15: Vigilance Organisation Kashmir (VOK) arrested a Government official for demanding and accepting bribe.
As per official spokesperson, VOK caught official of Water Shed Management Programme Ganderbal Shabir Ahmad Rather of Saloora Ganderbal while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 15000 from Ghulam Mohammad Chechi of Mulnar Theed Harwan.
The official demanded bribe in connection with preparation of report with regard to check dams and protection of bund at Mulnar Theed area of Harwan.
The accused was taken into custody on spot and his personal search lead to the recovery of the bribe money.
A case under FIR number 51/15 under Section 5(2) PC Act Svt 2006 and Section 4-A of PC Act, 2014 has been registered at police station VOK and further investigation taken up.
This is the 18th trap case registered by Vigilance Organisation in 2015 till date.
