VOK produces challan against 2 public servants

SRINAGAR, Mar 12:  In two separate cases, the Vigilance Organization Kashmir (VOK) today produced challan against former official of DC office Budgam and official of District Hospital Anantnag.
Challan in case FIR NO: 05/2015, was produced in the Court of Special Anti-corruption Judge Srinagar,   against Ghulam Mahdi Pandith of  Iskenderpora, Budgam,  the then I/C Head Assistant, Land Acquisition Section in the office of Deputy Commissioner Budgam.
He  was caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 3000 from
Firdous Ahmad Dar to release payment of Rs six lakh from the office of  DC Budgam. The said payment was compensation  amount, deposited by Army, against the land,  which was under the possession of the Army unit.
In other case,  FIR NO: 15/2012 against the accused public servant,  namely Abdul Hamid Bhat of  Kathsoo Sallar Anantang, the then Nursing Orderly/Incharge Ticket Section District Hospital Anantnag, the challan was produced in the Court of Additional Anti-Corruption Judge , Anantnag.
The accused had allegedly misappropriated  funds on account of auction of trees, Hospital Development Funds, NRHM Funds etc. Misusing his official position as I/C Registration Section, he had allegedly misappropriated an amount of Rs 1579530,  collected towards Hospital Development funds, between the period 06/2010 and  31/08/2011.
The investigation of the case was  concluded as proved against the accused Abdul Hamid Bhat and after the accord of Government sanction for launching prosecution, the challan of the case was produced.
