JAMMU, Mar 20: Vomedh Rangmanch’s captivating Kashmiri play Lalleshwari took center stage at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu, drawing a packed house.
The play, written by Bal Kishan Sanyasi and directed by Rohit Bhat, was a part of a cultural showcase in collaboration with the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Chandigarh.
The performance focused on the life of the 14th-century Kashmiri mystic poetess, Lal Ded (Lalleshwari), renowned for her profound mystical poetry, Lal Vakhs.
Suman Pandita’s portrayal of Lalleshwari as Shiv Yogini left a lasting impact on the audience.
Lal Ded, a key figure in Kashmir Shaivism, continues to inspire through her spiritual and literary contributions.
The production also featured performances by Arvin Tickoo and a talented team of artists, with musical contributions by Rajesh Khar and vocals by Shazia Bashir and Pallavi Kaul.
Rakesh Roshan Bhat, the mentor of Vomedh, expressed gratitude to the audience and NZCC, highlighting the group’s dedication to preserving Kashmir’s cultural heritage.
