Vomedh stages ‘Tscharie Mae‘tt’ as 5th episode of ‘Terrace Theatre’

JAMMU, July 29: “Tscharie Mae‘tt” (Empty Vessel), a short comedy play in Kashmiri language, written by monologue maestro late Piarey Lal Handoo and directed by Rohit Bhat of Vomedh, was staged today at Vomedh studio Janipur, as 5th episode of its on-going series of fortnightly “Terrace Theatre”.
The “Terrace Theatre”, one of its first kind series in India has been conceived by senior journalist, social activist and actor King C Bharti, who is also a part of Vomedh theatre group and is trying to contribute through meaningful and purposeful theatre in the State to involve the society in theatre and interactive mode to create a society that interacts between humans rather than depending on social media.
The Fortnightly “Terrace Theatre” series will do a play every fortnight. It provides the artists more opportunities to hone their skills and the art lovers like to witness the varied and intricate styles of theatre.
The short play “Tscharie Mae‘tt” has been extracted from the book “Ye Razz Kithe Tchenyi” written by late Piarey Lal Handoo. It is a satire  on the society where children  neglect their parents  in old age, but pretend  to love them if they find their parents  have some hidden  money to extract that money  also by faking their  love and concern  for their parents .
The artists who performed in the “Tscharie Mae‘tt”,  included Vinay Pandita as Papa  Ji, King C Bharti as Sarwanand, Daisy Bazaz as Roopa, Puneet Bali as Radha Krishan and Kamal Chandpuri as doctor.
A number of prominent personalities, theatre lovers and volunteers of Vomedh witnessed the hilarious comedy show in the pleasant Monsoon drizzle on the open terrace of Vomedh studio.
The audience highly appreciated the talent of the actors who brought the situation to life with their stellar performances.
