JAMMU, Dec 11: Former Minister and Congress candidate from Suchetgarh constituency RS Chib today appealed electorates to vote for peace, development and prosperity of border areas. He alleged that BJP party works for the welfare of rich people and not for poor and rural people.
“During Congress led UPA Government at centre the borders have remained calm as no cross border firing incidents occurred due to which border people have to suffer but during BJP’s six months rule border people have to migrate twice and suffered huge losses of lives and property”, Chib said while addressing a well-attended election rally at Blah and corner meetings at number of places in Suchetgarh Assembly segment.
Making a scathing attack on PDP and BJP, Chib said, “PDP is the party which only banks on Kashmir and BJP stands for urban areas and both these parties can not take all the people and regions together, whereas Congress is the only party which works for all the regions and sections of the society”.
“This is the opportune time to think collectively how to remain together and how to fight for the development of border areas”, he said, adding “Congress is the only party which can carry people of all the three regions of the State together.
Former Minister further added that policy and programmes of BJP are anti-rural and anti-farmer and it became clear in six months rule as BJP Government has failed to control the price rise and implementing pro-farmer policies.
Chib further added that BJP has not come out with any new programme and Congress had launched programmes like MNREGA, JNRUM, Mid-Day meal, RGGVY and many others for the welfare of the poor and rural population. He also appealed people to reject BJP.
