DODA, Oct 30: Road and Building Minister Abdul Majid Wani asked the people to give befitting reply to all divisive forces and vote in favour of Congress party candidates, so as to form next Government in J&K led by Congress.
Addressing workers’ first rally in Bhagwah block, after being given the party mandate in Doda, Wani expressed hope that the common masses, this time rising upon the divisive politics of religion, regionalism and caste-ism, shall vote for development only.
“People of the whole State have witnessed unimaginable growth and development after Ghulam Nabi Azad took over as its Chief Minister in year 2005. Apart from creating unimaginable infrastructural facilities, all over the State, Ghulam Nabi Azad also met long pending demand of people by creating new districts in the State. Those days shall be remembered as a golden period, with respect to growth and development, especially by public of the whole Chenab valley”, he added.
Wani further said that despite of certain obstacles created by few cabinet colleagues, belonging to the coalition partner, the Congress party leaders were successful in raking up important issues related to poor community of daily wager employees and settlement of PoK refugees. The next Government led by a Congress Chief Minister in the State shall settle these issues as a priority, he added.
He exhorted the party workers to make people aware of the communal groups, their evil designs and mechanism adopted for dividing people on caste and religion basis. These communal forces try to create a wedge between Hindu and Muslim communities only to reach corridors of power. But the people this time shall teach such forces and groups a lesson and vote only for growth and development of this State as well as the Chenab valley region, he stated.
