Akhnoor, Apr 1: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma has called upon the workers to intensify campaign to ensure the victory of Congress-NC joint nominee for Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency, Madan Lal Sharma.
Addressing a series of workers’ meetings at village, Pallwan, Sungal, Lehad, Bharda Klan, Bharda Khurd, Gandarwan, Kotli Tanda, Daskal in Akhnoor constituency, the Minister asked for highlighting the achievements of UPA and State Governments before the masses and seek support for the candidature of Madan Lal Sharma.
Maintaining that UPA is the only option before the countrymen, the Minister said that Congress-led regime provided stable Government in the Centre during the past one decade and many revolutionary steps were taken for the welfare of the people, especially those belonging to weaker sections of the society. He said Congress party has the agenda of ensuring all round development, uplifting the weaker sections of the society.
Cautioning the people against the divisive forces, the Minister said that such forces are out to destabilize the society in the name of religion, caste, creed and colour to seek support for their candidates in the election. He said such forces cannot succeed in their design and people will reject them out rightly.
Referring to the credentials of sitting MP Madan Lal, he said that MP is a leader of masses and totally involved with the people at the ground level. People have judged his performance during the past one decade as he raised the important issues in the Parliament. He urged the workers to convince the voters for reposing faith once again in Madan Lal Sharma.
