‘Vridh Ashram’ celebrates birth anniversary of its founder

JAMMU, July 9: The management and inmates of Home for the Aged and Infirm (popularly known as Vridh Ashram) at Ambphalla Jammu, celebrated 120th birth anniversary of its founder R N Prabhakar by performing Hawan-Poojan in the premises .
I D Soni, President of the Home and State Commissioner J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides, paid rich tributes to late Prabhakar, who retired as Head Master, devoted his life in service of the poor , aged destitute and inform members of the society. Mr Soni described late Prabhakar as a great visionary, who made a significant contribution for care and upliftment of such needy, hapless and destitute persons.
Besides patron Prem Gupta, vice-president H S Manhas, joint secretary Er Vijay Gupta, Managing Committee members Er B B Gupta, Nirmala Zutshi, R C Vaid, and others paid tributes to late Prabhakar.
Pertinent to mention that this institution was established on June 8, 1964 with mere one room and a piece of land obtained on lease from Ved Mandir Committee. The Home, registered as a Society since 1965, has now emerged as a premier centre in J&K for service to the old and inform persons of the society.
