VRS employees of JKRTC demand pending dues

JAMMU, Aug 13: All J&K RTC Volunteer Retired Employees Association today stressed upon the LG administration to clear their long pending dues.
Addressing a meeting of the Association, president of VRS Union Jammu Dev Raj Bali strongly criticized the attitude of J&K RTC and higher authorities of Transport Department towards VRS employees of the Corporation.
“We are struggling for last more than 12 years to get our pending dues and in this struggle, 75 VRS/GHS and other retired employees lost their precious lives as they could not afford proper medical treatment for want of funds”, he added.
Reiterating the demands of the Association, which included COLA arrears from 1999 to 31-12-2005, 6th Pay Commission arrears with effect from 1st January 2006 to April 2012 and Dearness Allowance arrears with effect from April 2012 to March 2021, Bali appealed Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to resolve their case by keeping the same in the Board of Directors’ meeting scheduled to be held on 16-08-2024 in Civil Secretariat Srinagar.
Among others present in the meeting were Surinder Singh, Allah Rakha, GS Tohra, Rajinder Sawhney and Ram Paul.
