VRS given JKRTC employees protest, demand arrears

JAMMU, Oct 22: Voluntarily retired employees of J&K Road Transport Corporation held strong protest demonstration and dharna against the JKRTC Management and J&K Transport Department authorities at Maharaja Hari Singh Park in Jammu in support of their long pending demands
Led by VRS Union president, Dev Raj Bali, the retired / VRS given JKRTC workers assembled in the Park, on the bank of river Tawi here and staged protest demonstration for some time. They were shouting slogans against the Transport authorities for not releasing the pending dues of the VRS given employees.
The protesting VRS accorded employees alleged that in the BOD meeting held in the recent past, the Managing Director has not placed the case of arrears of the VRS accorded employees of the JKRTC. They have deceived the VRS Union as despite assurances their case was put in the cold store. Their case has already been delayed by 12 years and during this period about 75 VRS/ retired employees have breathed their last but they were denied the benefits of COLA and others arrears. They claimed that both Transport authorities and Finance department are hand in glove with each other and befooling the agitating employees.
They have appealed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to intervene into the matter and issue directions to the concerned authorities to provide justice to the agitating VRS given JKRTC workers. They said these hapless workers have high hopes from NC led government.
Bali said they have not been paid their COLA arrears from June 1999 to Dec 31, 2005; DA arrears from April 2012 to March 2021 and 6th Pay Commission arrears by the JKRTC authorities from Ist Jan 2006 to March 2012.
Bali was accompanied by Sat Bhushan Ramesh Bhau, Surinder Kumar, Balwinder Singh, Rajinder Sawhney, Shiv Kumar, Ram Paul and others.
