Koul, Nirmal, Bakaya recall services of great leader

JAMMU, June 30: Vyeth, a socio-cultural organization observed Vaishnavi Divas, here, in which Kashmiri Pandits from different areas paid floral tribute to late Pt.Amar Nath Vaishnavi a great KP leader and a staunch RSS ideologue. It was followed by recitation of Geeta Shalokas by Pt. T.N.Raina. The formal welcome note was read by the founder president of Vyeth, Prof.Virender Rawal. Recalling the services of Late Amar Nath Vaishnavi, Ashok Kaul, general secretary BJP (J&K) who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that Vaishnavi Ji was a great fighter who fought for the people of the State in general and for the KP community in particular. He said that late leader continued to serve his community till his last.
Prof Nirmal Singh, former Deputy Chief Minister J&K who was the guest of honour said that inculcating the values of our rich cultural ethos in the minds and hearts of youth shall be treated as the best tribute paid to the father of community.
He, said that the simple living and high thinking of Pt.Vaishnavi Ji made him heart throb not only of the community but also for the society as well.
Recalling the post migration scenario, Prof.B.L.Zutshi and Ajey Bharti said that the way Moti Lal Malla, Late Hira Lal Chatta and others under the vibrant leadership of Vaishnavi Ji worked for the immediate relief and rehabilitation of the displaced community is worth recalling. Vijay Bakaya described as to how as the Divisional Commissioner he coordinated between Vaishnavi Ji’s team and the then Governor, Jagmohan and got the relief to the migrants and the salaries of the employees released officially.
While paying tribute to Vaishnavi Ji,Swami Kumar Ji said that Vaishnavi Ji was totally dedicated to the community services. BK Sanyasi, highlighted the contribution of Vaishnavi Ji for the upliftment of the displaced community.
Hira Lal Bhat incharge Kashmir BJP recalled his association with Vaishnavi Ji in his historical meeting with various leaders of Maharashtra including Bala Saheb Thackrey with regard to the admissions of migrant students in different professional courses. On the occasion, Kusum Dhar recited a poem in the form of tribute to Vaishnavi Ji and Ahee Pandita enthralled the audience by recalling Vaishnavi Ji’s slogan Jaikara entitled Jaikara Goonj.
The Chairman Kashmiri Pandit Welfare Society Bengaluru, R K Matoo was awarded this year’s Vaishnavi Samman for his tremendous contribution to the welfare of Kashmiri Pandit community in Bengaluru.
Dr.Kailash Mehra’s recitation of Geeta Shaloka and Kabir’s Doha in her magical and soulful voice kept the audience spell bound. Among the galaxy of intellectuals and social activists present at the occasion were R.K.Raina former president ASKPC, B.L. Saraf former Principal and Sessions Judge, C.L.Pandita Chairman P.N. Bhat Memorial Trust, Shiban Kahibri critic and historian, Chand Ji Bhat president BJP KDD, Subash Chatta, Manmohan Kaul,Ramesh Hangloo, Ashok Kangan, Naina Saproo Trisal, Vijay Kashkari, Rajinder Tiku , Vikram Kaul with KPV team and many more. Renowned broadcaster Ramesh Marhata conducted the proceedings, and Dr Pran Kaul presented the vote of thanks.
