JAMMU, Sept 20: PDP Youth President and Pulwama Assembly candidate Waheed ur Rehman Parra has questioned the National Conference (NC) MPs’ silence over the abrogation of Article 370 in the Parliament.
Speaking at a rally in Ganderbal for PDP candidate Bashir Mir, Parra questioned why NC leaders have not introduced a bill in Parliament to address the issue.
Parra urged voters to closely examine the actions of political representatives since the revocation of Jammu & Kashmir’s special status.

He emphasized that rhetoric alone should not guide public opinion and that concrete actions are needed to defend the region’s autonomy.
Drawing from the PDP’s rise in 2002, Parra expressed confidence that the party would once again become a powerful force in the region.
He believed that, like before, PDP’s focus on key issues will resonate with the people.
Parra also highlighted the pressure faced by PDP since 2018, when 40 legislators were allegedly forced to leave the party.
He described it as a calculated effort to weaken the party’s influence in the region.
Despite these challenges, Parra reaffirmed PDP’s commitment to its cause, stating that Mehbooba Mufti and the party have been continuously attacked but will not be silenced.
He promised that the PDP’s fight for justice and autonomy would continue.
