RAMBAN, June 8: Former MLA Ramban Neelam Langeh has urged the Lt Governor to waive off the water and electricity bills in view of Coronavirus.
During his visit to different areas of Ramban, people demanded waiving off electricity and water bills and interest on Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) loans to BPL and AAY categories.
Neelam Langeh assured the people that he will raise the issue with Lt Governor’s Administration. He said as almost all sections of the society have been economically hit due to the Corona pandemic, the Government needed to show compassion and provide special succor particularly to the financially poor and marginalized sections of the society.
The former MLA said with the poor sections having exhausted all their savings, they were finding it hard to make both ends meet while at the same time having to pay various kinds of cesses and tariffs.
He urged upon central and LG administration to announce waiving-off of water and electricity bills for the people who are affected due to restrictions. He also demanded that interest on KCC loans should be waived off instantly as a measure to provide relief to the farming community.
