JAMMU, Apr 19: “Walk of Hope”, a 7500 km padyatra for sadbhavana, peace and interfaith harmony, which was flagged off on January 12, 2015 from Vivekanand Rock Memorial, Kanyakumari, today reached Jammu.
Soon after reaching Jammu, Mr Mumtaz Ali, under whose leadership the Yatra is being undertaken, paid obeisance at Peer Baba Kanju Sahib and then walked to J&K Police Martyrs Memorial at Railway Station Jammu, where a wreath laying ceremony was held.
On April 23 at 7:30 am there would be a Jammu City Walk which will commence from Kalika Dham (Railway Station) on to Jain Temple-Gurudwara Sahib (Gandhi Nagar) – Church (Gandhi Nagar) – and culminate at Raghunath Mandir.
In the evening of April 23, there would be a function at Yasho Karan Park, Ranbireshwar Temple Complex, Jammu, where Mumtaz Ali would address the people at about 6 pm. It would be followed by a cultural programme and screening of a film on Walk of Hope.
The ‘Walk of Hope’ is being undertaken by Manav Ekta Mission, under the leadership of Mumtaz Ali, popularly known as “Sri M”. Mumtaz Ali is a social reformer, an educationist and a spiritual luminary.
The Walk of Hope is an initiative to restore the innate spirituality of the Nation—rekindling true faith and rejuvenating the spirit of hope, love, peace, harmony and oneness. Flagged off on January 12, 2015 at Vivekanand Rock Memorial, Kanyakumari, the padyatra will conclude in Srinagar. It has covered approx 7500 kms through 11 States in 500 days. The Walk has already covered the States of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana and Punjab.
