LEH (Ladakh), Dec 28: To ensure basic essential services in Upper Leh, the Deputy Chairman, LAHDC, Leh Gyal P. Wangyal and Councillor Upper Leh, Gey Lobzang Nyantak along with Executive Engineer, R&B, PHE and PDD and all the concerned engineers today made a day long tour of Upper Leh and inspected roads, sewerage lines, drinking water, transformers and electric lines.
While inspecting the Tisuru to Takshithang road, Khakshal to Sankar road, Labuk House to Lamdon road, Spurkha road, Horzey Masjid to Gangles bridge road and Gonpa road, Dy. Chairman directed Executive Engineer, PHE to complete remaining proposed sewerage and drinking water pipelines and handover all the roads to R&B Division for blacktopping. He directed Executive Engineer, R&B to complete all the tendering process in the Winter months. He also directed Executive Engineer, PHE to ensure proper levelling of roads after laying of sewerage and drinking water pipe lines.
The team also inspected two sites at Horzey –Gangles where NHPC has installed transformers which are incomplete since many years. While inspecting Horzey Medical Sub Centre, Dy. Chairman was informed by Executive Engineer, PDD that this centre will be connected with power supply soon.
Dy. Chairman also inspected 50,000 gallon water reservoir at Gonpa and directed Executive Engineer, PHE to complete the remaining works at the earliest.
Councillor Upper, Leh, Gey Lobzang Nyantak requested all the engineers to address all major and minor pending works of roads, sewerage lines, drinking water and electric lines at the earliest.
