Wani asks JKPCC to take part in national bids

JAMMU, Apr 22: The 88th meeting of Board of Directors of Jammu & Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) Ltd was held here today under the chairmanship of Minister for R&B, Abdul Majid Wani.
Minister of State for R&B, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, who is also the Vice Chairman of JKPCC, was also present in the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the projects taken up by JKPCC during 2012-13. It was informed that the working turnover of JKPCC for 2012-13 stands at Rs. 371.44 crore. It was further informed that nine major bridges and 12 buildings have been completed during the year and the remaining projects including hospitals buildings and other health institutions, hostels and residential quarters, Degree Colleges, Polytechnic colleges, shrines, cultural centers etc. across various district of the State are in various stages of completion.
Mr. Wani asked JKPCC to expedite all works under its execution including completion and early handing over of commercial shopping complexes at Jahangir Chowk and Rambagh meant for shopkeepers who would be relocated during the process of construction of flyover and road widening.
It was informed in the meeting that an amount of Rs 62 crore is outstanding with various project authorities on account of already completed and handed over projects. The Minister directed taking up the matter with the concerned agencies for the realisation of the dues.
The Minister asked the Corporation to improve its working portfolio and take part in national bids and construction activities in other States as well. He asked them to conduct internal auditing and complete the process at the earliest.
Principal Secretary Planning and Development, B.R. Sharma, Commissioner Secretary R&B, Tanveer Jahan, Chief Engineers R&B, Kashmir and Jammu, Managing Director JKPCC, CEO ERA and other officers were present in the meeting.
