JAMMU, Feb 10: In the presence of JKPCC President Vikar Rasool Wani and other senior leaders, several DPAP leaders from Gandri Block, Distt Ramban joined the Congress party at PCC HQ, Shaheedi Chowk Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Wani said that Congress party is an instrument of service to the people, which has remained dedicated to the cause of serving the people. “Congress is duty bound to address the urges and aspirations of the people, for the fact, it is the only party which has always taken care of the urges and aspirations of the common man,” he said.
The JKPCC president said Congress party believes in strengthening the people and is committed to equitable development of J&K. He described BJP dispensation as anti-poor, anti youth, anti kissan and due to its wrong policies the sufferings of the people increased manifold.
“The insensitive Government pushed people to the wall, as unemployment has increased, prices have risen and developmental activities have suffered a lot,” he said and alleged that BJP Government pushed back State in all sectors during last more than nine year.
Regretting the lame duck posturing of the BJP leaders virtually on all issues, Wani said that the people of Jammu region feel utterly cheated and betrayed for the failure of BJP leaders to represent and agitate their concerns. He said that installing smart meters, increasing toll plaza’s fee and stopping old age pension besides increasing unemployment are the milestones of BJP Govt.
Wani said that people who want to contribute to the political discourse and development of J&K must become part of the Congress’s growth story.
Prominent among those who joined Congress party, included Rehmatullah Rounyal, Distt Vice President; Amin Bhat, Ex Sarpanch; Azad Ali, Sr Vice President Gandri, and a number of dedicated workers and supporters.
Besides JKPCC president, they were welcomed in the party by Sr Vice President G N Monga, General Secretary (Org) Narinder Gupta, General Secretaries Anayatullah Rathar (DDC), Thomas Khokhar, DCC President Ramban Pervez Ahmed Wani, Media Coordinator Neeraj Gupta, Chairman SC Deptt. Karan Bhagat, Vijay Shastri, Rick Dalotra, Vijay Chib, Varinder Manhas and others.
