JAMMU, June 26: While listening to problems of a deputation of Sarpanchs/Panchs, Congress workers and other people from Ramnagar Assembly constituency, Abdul Majid Wani, the R&B Minister assured to take strict action against erring engineers as well as contractors, who are found responsible for delaying various on-going R&B sector projects deliberately.
Majid Wani issued directions to all Chief Engineers of R&B Department as well as MD JKPCC to review progress of all on-going schemes/ projects on weekly basis and issue termination notices to the erring contractors apart from taking action against the departmental engineers who are found in connivance with such erring contractors.
He further said that it is first responsible of both contractors as well as the departmental engineers to ensure completion of R&B projects within best possible time meeting the targeted period for completion.
Earlier, Majid Wani gave a patient hearing to deputation led by R. S. Pathania, General Secretary, J&K Pradesh Youth Congress. The deputation demanded immediate start of work on Basantgarh to Khaned road, improvement-cum-upgradation of Dhar road to Sehal Kouri Ber road, Larey to Smal road, Majalta to Peuni road, Manwal to Tajoor road. They also projected execution of work on Ramnagar to Basantgarh road and lesser provision of funds for Ramnagar to Johnu road.
Damands for linking of Thail-Chountara road with Sunetar-Dhanu road, start of work on Panchayat Ghar Sundla to H. S. Sundla, Thani to Dhamma – Jansal Road, Kathil to Puna road, Neeli to Lanka Talab road, Sunal to Rajan Talab road, Vil. Pathwar (Teh Majalta) were also put forward before the R&B Minister.
They also sought provison of funds for Dalsar to Seunti road, Kathil Ganju to Johar Road, Dhara to Thanoura (vill. Badhole) Road, Cheel to Upper Chalar road and foot bridge across nullah separating villages Kathil Ganjoo and Johnu, foot-bridge across Kalmah (Bringal Morh), Beri, Vil. Sunetar (Teh Ramnagar and Nulah Saloh across Baba Kharsal point, Vil. Blandh (Teh Ramnagar).
Minister gave a patient hearing to the deputation.
The delegation comprised of Jagmohan, Mohan Lal Sharma, Kuldip Singh, Raj Kumar, Manzur Ahmed (all Sarpanchs), Ritin Sethi, senior Youth Congress leader from Udhampur, Rashpal Singh, Attar Singh, Gopal Singh, Rattan Singh, Om Parkash, Mohd. Sidique, Yash Pal, and other Sarpanchs/Panchs and people from Ramnagar area.
