DODA, June 16: Minister for PWD (R&B) and Mechanical Engineering Abdul Majid Wani in his maiden visit to Beoli, Bijarni and Gadi villages after assuming the charge of the R&B Minister, laid foundation stone of 9.6 km link road from Bijarni to Lal Draman and assured the construction of other PMGSY roads in the region. He directed the concerning officials to work out a compensation package for those farmers whose land have come under the debris of various PMGYS roads. While addressing a series of public gatherings, Mr. Wani reiterated the commitment of the Coalition Government to connect all the left over habitations with road connectivity and other basic facilities. He said that Government has taken revolutionary steps in the state to bring transparency and accountability in the functioning of Government machinery, He said social auditing and grass root awareness among the people is being disseminated so that people can avail benefits of various welfare schemes launched by the Government. The Minister said that whereas many habitations have been provided electricity in the region, all the left out villages and hamlets will be covered under RGGVY in a phased manner. He said continuous efforts and initiatives by the Government helped in restoration of peace and prosperity in the entire state which could not have been possible without the active participation of the people. Mr. Wani cautioned the people to stay away from the anti-social elements who are trying to disturb the peace and harmony in the region. He said peace is vital for the implementation of welfare schemes and developmental activities in the region. The Minister said that concrete and continuous efforts are being made by the Government to consolidate and expand the education network in the rural and backward areas, so that poor students get education facility at their door steps. Responding to the demands projected by the locals including upgradation of schools, roads, health care facilities and uninterrupted power and water supply, the Minister issued on-the-spot directions to concerned officials to mitigate the problems being faced by them.
